Supporting Our Heroes: Bil-Jac Celebrates Raising Over $1 Million for Disabled Veterans with New Training Treat
Back in 2010, Bil-Jac Super Premium Dog Food partnered with America’s VetDogs, a national nonprofit that trains and provides assistance dogs to veterans and first responders with disabilities. That partnership culminated in the creation of America's VetDogs Soft & Moist Dog Treats, a delicious star-shaped treat that aids veterans and first responders with every purchase. After a decade of assistance, Bil-Jac is proud to announce that we’ve helped raise more than $1 million for America’s VetDogs and the men and women who have sacrificed so much for this country.
This news is not only an exciting milestone, but also an opportunity to expand our partnership with America’s VetDogs. Having reached a collective contribution level over $1 million, we’re excited to announce a brand-new product.
Introducing a New Training Treat to Support Veterans Across the Country
Bil-Jac is proud to present the new America’s VetDogs Training Treat, a tasty peanut butter-flavored treat that will bear the emblem “Official Training Treat of America’s VetDogs.” These training treats are used to help train service dogs to assist veterans in their daily lives with such tasks as object retrieval, opening and closing doors, bracing and supporting handlers when standing or walking, mitigating symptoms of PTSD, and other critical duties.
“We’re truly grateful to have partners like Bil-Jac,” said John Miller, president and CEO of America’s VetDogs. “Reaching $1 million in donations is an incredible milestone. And with the introduction of the new America’s VetDogs Training Treat, we’re thrilled to offer consumers the same treats we use to train our dogs, which change the lives of veterans and first responders with disabilities.”
This new product further cements the strong relationship between Bil-Jac and America’s VetDogs, with every package sold supporting the America’s VetDogs mission.
“We’ve loved supporting an organization as giving as America’s VetDogs, and it’s been a privilege to watch the organization grow throughout the years,” said Bil-Jac President Bob Kelly. “My father and uncle founded Bil-Jac after returning from serving in the Army during WWII, so supporting veterans has always been a cause that’s near and dear to our hearts. By providing assistance dogs, VetDogs provides vital and unique services to our returning heroes, and we are proud to continue and support the wonderful work they do.”
