History and Facts: This rugged dog was originally bred for hunting and tracking. The breed dates back to the Middle Ages. It was named after P. Schiller, who in the 1952, crossed Swedish scent hounds with Swiss, German and Austria bloodhounds.

The Schiller Hound is lively and affectionate. This is a robust, fast dog that needs firm training and loves snow.
