History and Facts: The Plott Hound originated in North Carolina during the 1700s when the Plott brothers brought their dogs with them when they immigrated from Germany.

Temperament / Behavior
Plott Hounds tend to be eager-to-please, loyal and intelligent. Although it's generally a consistent breed, there are some differences in temperament between the coonhound variety and the one developed to hunt big game. The Plott Hound is a courageous, but somewhat stubborn, breed with plenty of stamina. It is rarely kept as just a companion dog.
