History and Facts: During the late 1800s, German breeders attempted to refresh the Stober, a Spaniel noted for its scent-following skills. Today it is a rare breed almost entirely owned by German hunters and gamekeepers.

Temperament / Behavior
The German Spaniel tends to be an active dog with the same type of temperament as the English Springer Spaniel. It is more often kept as a working dog, rather than a household companion.
