History and Facts: The Field Spaniel was developed in the 1800s in England to hunt and retrieve birds.

Temperament / Behavior
The Field Spaniel is reputed to be the calmest and most affectionate of all the Spaniel breeds. This dog makes a loyal, loving family companion. It will get along well with gentle children if socialized early. The Field Spaniel performs well in obedience classes and greets strangers with a warm reception. If exercised properly, this breed will adapt well to city living.
