History and Facts: A descendant of the Bleu de Gascogne, Gascon Sain-tongeois and Chien d'Artois in the southern French province of Ariegeois. This rare breed is an expert at rabbit hunting and was first recognized in 1912.

The Ariegeois is energetic, free-spirited and typically friendly.

Excellent health record. No known hereditary conditions.

Special Needs
Exercise: The Ariegeois requires regular vigorous exercise. This dog is not well-suited for apartments or kennels.

Grooming: The Ariegeois needs minimal grooming: occasional brushing and bathing.
