This rugged dog was originally bred for hunting and tracking. The breed dates back to the Middle Ages. It was named after P. Schiller, who in the 1952, crossed Swedish scent hounds with Swiss, German and Austria bloodhounds.
Coat is tan with black "saddle" area. The breed can withstand extremely cold temperatures and is rare outside of Sweden."
