History

Unlike many other Spaniels, the English Toy Spaniel was never developed as a hunting dog. Around since the 1600s, these were a favorite lap dog of English aristocracy.

Pet Facts

The short, upturned nose is pink at birth and will eventually turn black as the dog ages. There are four versions of the breed: Blenheim (white / chestnut), Prince Charles (white / tan / black), King Charles (black / mahogany) and Ruby (mahogany). The breed is sensitive to heat and humidity and should be kept indoors. Makes a good choice for dog-lovers that live in the city.
