Unique Vacuum Drying

LOW TEMPERATURE DRYING. Bil-Jac chicken ingredients are pasteurized, then subjected to very gentle vacuum drying. Bil-Jac is the only company using a vacuum drying method.

This means we are able to dehydrate at very low temperatures (typically half or less than half of our competition) to form the final product without the excessive pressure and temperature of typical extrusion and expansion.

As a result, we protect the heat sensitive amino acids from heat degradation. Low temperature also protects the quality of our chicken fat, which is naturally present in the food throughout the process. Therefore, we never have to spray on fat as a last step (and why it is not listed on our ingredient label like on everyone else's).

Our process results in the most highly palatable product without the spraying on of fat and digest (flavoring) to improve the taste.
