Spotlight: Dachshunds

Did you know that dachshunds are bred in several sizes and coat lengths? Standard or miniature, this happy-go-lucky, elongated pup may have a Smooth, Wirehaired or Longhaired coat!

Dachshunds, lovingly called "wiener dogs", originated in Germany back in the 1600's. Translating into "badger dog", dachshunds were bred to keep those pests off of its owner's property. Today, dachshunds are one of America's favorite breeds and are well known for their sunny disposition and strong sense of smell. Have a "wiener dog" in the family or around the neighborhood?
