Heart Healthy Awareness Month
February is Heart Healthy Awareness Month! At Bil-Jac, we know that your best friend is a member of your family and we want to help keep their little tickers strong and healthy. We’ve got five must do tips to keep your dog’s heart strong:
- Maintain proper body weight. Bil-Jac Dog Food can help! Keep an eye on portion sizes, as noted on feeding instructions, and reward your best friend with a nutritious meal he will love - Bil-Jac.
- Exercise every day! Exercise is important for both you and your dog’s heart health. Try taking your best friend for a walk or play an active game of fetch.
- Know your dog–some breeds are more prone to heart disease than others, so make sure you do a little research and know your dog’s risk.

"I would like to say good job on your new food. I love that Omega’s have been added. I normally won’t ever buy any dog food without it on the bag. Keep up the good work and hope to see new and improved things to come. This will only make your food look even better." –John

Did you know that
corn meal is better for your dog than rice? Research shows that corn has the highest total antioxidant activity (more than double) compared to rice, wheat, or oats, and corn fed to dogs produces a lower glycemic index than certain carbohydrates, including rice.
According to research
at Cornell University, slow cooking corn releases more nutrients and up to 900% more antioxidants. Furthermore, finely ground corn is 99% digestible for dogs! Find out more about corn and why it’s important for your best friend.
