History and Facts: This breed dates back to about 1897 when it was developed by pioneer settlers to herd livestock. It originates from a mix of Smooth-Coated Collie, Dingo, Dalmatian, Australian Kelpie and Bull Terrier.

Temperament / Behavior
The Australian Cattle Dog is a high-energy, smart, strong-willed breed that tends to be wary of strangers.

CHD; OCD; PRA; deafness; elbow dysplasia

Special Needs
Exercise: The Australian Cattle Dog will need daily vigorous exercise. This dog is not recommended for city or apartment living.

Grooming: The Australian Cattle Dog needs minimal grooming, but it sheds heavily in the spring and needs regular brushing during this time.
