Dear Loyal Bil-Jac Fans, |
|
Old Dogs, New Tricks It is possible to teach old dogs new tricks! It’s just a matter of knowing if your dog is red, orange, yellow, green or blue. Training your dog by its temperament is one of the most effective ways to build a strong relationship with your pet and a happier animal overall. Animal trainer and longtime friend of Bil-Jac, Joel Silverman , has written a book called What Color is Your Dog? which will help you determine your dog’s personality type and will give you tips on the best way to get your dog to the perfect temperament, mellow yellow. Two big take aways: The first is to take the time to develop a great relationship with your best friend before you train him. And the other is to understand that all dogs are different. What works well for one dog may not work well for another. Dr. Bingham’s Nutrition Corner We all want our dogs to live long and healthy lives. With so many different opinions about pet health, figuring out what is a healthy diet for your dog can be confusing, especially if you want to ensure your best friend is getting a balanced diet. As with humans, the right type of fats are important for optimal dog nutrition. Many companies add or spray fat on their products and therefore must list fat as an added ingredient to their labels. Not Bil-Jac. All of the fat needed for your dog occurs naturally from the fresh chicken and fresh organ meat in Bil-Jac dog food. Tip: A good way to see if fat is being added to your dog’s food is by checking out the ingredient listing. If fat occurs naturally, it will not be listed separately. |
