For the Love of Bil-Jac

"I had a very sick dog. I tried every food there was to try. My Chihuahua had seizures, low sugar and his teeth were weak, so I needed soft healthy food for him. Once I tried Bil-Jac, it was a success! My search was over. My sick dog gained weight and loved it. In addition, my other dogs looked healthier and their coat was beautiful. Bil-Jac was the best thing that has happened to my dogs!"

Is Your Pet Ready for Holiday Guests?

Holiday parties can be fun and a little stressful for both you and your pet. Keep your pet on the right diet by asking guests not to feed your friendly pooch people food–a bite of holiday goodies from a dozen people will add up quickly for a dog of any size.

If your dog jumps up when greeting guests, consider keeping him in a separate room until everyone arrives or during the entire party if necessary. Check out our Facebook Fanpage for more tips to keep your dog and your
guests jovial!

We Want to Know...What are You Giving Your Dog for the Holidays?

We know your furry little friend is just one of the kids and we want to hear about your holiday celebrations with them! Do you give your pooch gifts? Hang a stocking for them under the mantel? Include them in other holiday festivities? Tell us about it!

Holiday Shopping Tip From
Joel Silverman

Holiday shopping is underway, and Bil-Jac’s celebrity dog trainer, Joel Silverman, has some tips for shopping for the dogs and dog lovers in your family. Giving pets as a gift can be fun and it can be a great idea if the pet is given to your own child. But, giving pets as gifts to others is not always the best idea.

Buying a dog is a personal decision, and it’s best to spend time with the dog prior to making a purchase. Many pets get returned to humane societies due to this problem. If you want to give a pet as a gift, try to pick up a gift certificate for a local animal shelter or make a pet coupon yourself. This way the new owner can choose the right pet for them!

Holiday Foods to Keep Away From Your Best Friend

The holidays are a wonderful time to celebrate with pets, but there are some hidden dangers lurking amongst the festive cheer. Keep your dog happy and healthy this holiday season with our top tips from Bil-Jac's veterinarian.

  • Make sure to keep your pooches away from the holiday tree water–it can contain fertilizers and bacteria that can be hazardous to dogs.
  • Watch out for ribbons and tinsels! Although, decorative and festive, if dogs and cats eat ribbons and tinsel they can become lodged in the animal’s intestines.
  • Need a last minute gift idea? Try some Bil-Jac Liver Treats! The perfect stocking stuffer, Liver Treats are safe and nutritious for pets year-round.
  • Shiny and bright glass ornaments often attract the attention of pets and can be tempting to nudge and paw off the tree. Keep an eye out for falling ornaments to make sure your pet doesn’t break the glass or eat the ornaments!
