Since 1947, when brothers Bill and Jack Kelly started making dog food in Medina Ohio, Bil-Jac has been committed to making the most nutritious, high-quality dog food available. Why? Ingredients

Our food is very different from any other dry dog food,” explains son Bob, now the President of Bil-Jac. “It all starts with ingredients. We use 25 pounds of fresh chicken to make a 30 lb bag of food. The quality of the ingredients we use in our foods is key to the quality of the food we produce. No one we know of goes to as much trouble in sourcing fresh ingredients and controlling their handling as Bil-Jac.

Processing

Using our own unique Nutri-Lock slow cook process, we gently cook the chicken at a controlled temperature. Our Nutri-Lock™ process takes longer, but the nutritional benefits make it worthwhile. Slow cooking helps protect essential nutrients in the food so the dog can use them, and it naturally helps to enhance the taste of the food.”

“Most dog foods are extruded, subjecting the ingredients to high temperatures and high pressure. It’s like the difference between fried chicken and roasted chicken. Your body digests it differently.
